To burn fat you’ve got to do aerobic exercise. But adding some weight training certainly won’t hurt. At the gym recently my personal trainer gave me a new exercise called the low-pulley bench kickback. This is one of the best exercises out there for creating a nice, round butt. Basically you kneel with one leg on a flat bench next to a pulley machine. You strap the cuff handle around the other ankle. Make sure the bench is far enough from the cable that you feel resistance even when your leg is in the forward position.
When you are ready you rise up so you can swing your straight leg back without hitting the floor. Allow your leg to gently pull to its most forward position, and then forcefully swing it back until parallel to the floor. Bring your leg back to the forward position with control – don’t let it snap back. My trainer said to do a wet of 10 to 15 reps and then switch to the other leg. You can do three sets if you are an advanced trainer. This exercise has already made a difference in my over all physique. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a shapely behind.
If you really want to burn some fat, I suggest swimming some laps in a pool. I joined a gym a few months ago to be able to take advantage of their swimming facilities. I had read somewhere that you burn fat by doing aerobic activities. Swimming laps is extremely aerobic, especially when you don’t stop. I never realized that you have to have some coordination to swim laps.
You’ve got to turn your head at just the right time to be able to grab that much needed breath of air. Swimming laps in a pool has helped me lose weight as well as build a stronger heart. If you don’t like swimming in pools because of the chlorination you can swim in lakes or in the ocean if you live near one. Just be careful when swimming in an ocean, my dad was swimming once in the ocean and got caught in a rip tide. Those can be quite traumatic. When you are practically swimming for your life, trying to get back to shore. Thank goodness he was finally able to get out of it and make it safely back to the sandy beach.
You don’t see very many overweight mountain bikers. That’s because mountain biking requires endurance, stamina, and strong muscles. When you are riding a mountain bike the first thing you want to make sure you do is put on protective gear. First and foremost wearing a helmet is a must. One thing I do know is that it doesn’t take much to lose control of the mountain bike when going straight down a hill. If you have a mountain bike where you clip into the pedals, sometimes your feet can get stuck in there and when you go to put your foot down, you fall down instead.
I always go mountain biking with a partner for safety reasons. You don’t want to have something happen where you are unable to get help. I was with a friend the other day that gave me a great tip. When you are riding down the mountain, don’t look at things that are in the trail, like specific rocks, holes or whatever. If you do, you are more likely to hit that object. Make sure you are looking down the trail because wherever you’re eyes go, that’s where you are going to go. Mountain biking builds muscle and burns fat. So, try it some time!
Hoodia gordonii is a cactus-like plant, native to the Kalahari Desert in Southern Africa. Hoodia is considered to be an appetite suppressant. They say you should not take hoodia in any form if you have diabetes or if you are taking a medicine to control your blood sugar levels, if you have any heart problems or take any heart medicines, or if you have a bleeding or blood clotting disorder or are in need of taking a medicine to increase or decrease the clotting of your blood such as aspirin, warfarin, or heparin.
I’ve done a little research on hoodia and have found out that it is not yet been evaluated by the FDA, and so obviously Lipozene has not been ok’d as a healthy supplement. Hoodia is sold over the Internet and in health food and discount stores, Hoodia gordonii is typically supplied in capsules or tablets, but I’ve seen that it is also available in milk chocolate chews. A 30-day supply usually costs $35 and up. I’m all for appetite suppressers and think that as long as there aren’t major side effects it’s ok to give these pills a try. They say you should take one capsule twice a day and you’ll see the weight start falling off.
There is no need to go out and buy really expensive exercise equipment if you want to burn fat and get in shape. If you want to burn off that belly fat one of the best exercises you can do is jog. I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed your stomach start to jiggle when you move quickly, speed walking, jogging, and running will get your arms, legs, and stomach muscles moving. If you want to burn even more calories while doing this add those exercise weights to your wrists and move your arms as much as possible.
Same goes for your legs, add the ankle weights and burn more calories. Push ups are a great fat burning exercise because it tightens your core muscles as you are using the strength of your entire body to go up and down. Try doing some bicycle crunches as well. If you want an overall body workout that can really burn the fat off, try rowing. If it’s nice weather out, skip the gym, go down to the lake and rent one of those rowing boats and enjoy the summer sun. The more active you are the more fat you will burn, and the better you will feel.
Stomach Fat - September 10th, 2009
I have gained some weight as of late, and for some reason the first place it goes is to my stomach. Yep, the fat starts hugging my hips and thighs and my stomach is a jiggly mess. My pants get too tight, I can barely breathe and I just about come unglued. What can be done? Well, what has worked for me is number one, cutting out the junk food. Second, I turn to fruits and vegetables. I almost go vegetarian because it feels like any type of food other than fruits and vegetables just sticks to my stomach. Sit-ups have been a great go to as well. I don’t do them every day but at least three times a week.
Probably the single most important thing I do to drop the belly fat is drink more water. I read some where that you can eat certain foods to help burn fat. Eggs for example are super high in protein. I guess low-fat dairy foods can help burn fat as well. Beans, beans the magical fruit, helps burn that fat away as well. Another fat burning food that you may want to eat, especially for breakfast is oatmeal.

I just recently learned that caffeine is used as a fat burner. Apparently most diet pills, fat burning diet supplements, etc. contain caffeine. Caffeine is found in so many things, from coffee to analgesics. I think caffeine is great as long as you don’t go overboard. I don’t recommend giving kids caffeine however. Many weight loss supplements include the thermogenic nutrients caffeine and ephedra, which, when combined, are potent fat burners.
I began taking a weight loss supplement and after hearing that most of them contain caffeine, I checked the label and sure enough, the one I was taking definitely contained caffeine. No wonder I felt like I had so much energy…I was taking a weight loss supplement that contained caffeine, and was drinking a cup of coffee in the morning.
